  1. What is SkillsUSA?  Skills USA is a partnership of students, teachers and Industry working together to ensure America has skilled Workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.
  2. Why should I join SkillsUSA? SkillsUSA’s mission is to help its members become World class workers, leaders and responsible American Citizens.
  3. How much does it cost? $20.00
  4. My Advisor is: Career Technical Teacher
  5. The SkillsUSA Motto is: Preparing for leadership in the world of work.
  6. On the ceremonial emblem: The shield represents- Patriotism
  7. On the ceremonial emblem: The gear represents -the Industrial society
  8. On the ceremonial emblem: The torch represents- Knowledge
  9. On the ceremonial emblem: The orbital circles represents-Technology
  10. On the ceremonial emblem: The hands represents- YOU
  11. The Skills USA Colors are:

    Red and White represent the individual states and chapters.
    Blue represents the common union of the states and of the chapters.
    Gold represents the individual, the most important element of the organization.

  12. What color of pants do I need to have for official dress.
  13. Official Attire for women:  Red SkillsUSA blazer, windbreaker or sweater,White collarless or small-collared blouse or white turtleneck (collar must not extend over the blazer lapel or the sweater or windbreaker) Black dress skirt (knee-length) or black dress slacks, black shoes.
  14. Official attire for men: Red SkillsUSA blazer, windbreaker or sweater, white dress shirt plain solid black tie, black dress slacks, black dress shoes.

  15. Alabama is in Region 2- When we go to national we compete with everyone in the USA.
  16. There are two types of contest:    Technical, Leadership
  17. Leadership is: Job interview, Prepared speech, Customer Service, CPR…..
  18. What does PDP stand for? Professional , Development , Plan, Worksheets  and activities that teach leadership skills and how to be a professional on the job.
  19. How are The PDP’s  going to help me? To help me plan my future, Set goals and learn job skills.
