Principal's Message

Dear Minor Families:

I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2017-2018 school year!  For our new parents and students coming to Minor High School, I truly believe this is a great place to be.  The teachers and staff believe in our vision which is “One Minor, Major Possibilities.”  We are committed to providing our students with a quality education, rigorous curriculum, a safe environment and enrichment/intervention supports.

For the past 3 years I have been the proud principal of Minor High School.  This will be my 5th year as principal and I’m honored to continue this journey.  I’m inviting all of our parents to join me this school year in building a strong team that ensures success for all of our students. Please take time to visit our school website. This tool will keep our parents informed of current events, classroom activities, and school related issues. Our parent-student handbook will also be available on the first day of school. It provides important information about our school’s philosophy, procedures, policies, curriculum and schedules. This handbook also focuses on behavior expectations and guidelines for our students.

At Minor High School, we believe in consistent and clear communication with our parents.  I’m also a firm believer of building strong positive relationships at home and school.  This is a key factor in increasing student achievement at Minor High School.  We have an open door policy, so please feel free to visit.  Parental involvement is an essential component to achieving student success.  Our first Open House has been scheduled for August 24, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  This event will be a perfect opportunity to become more involved in your child’s education.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact me at (205) 379-4750.
